Here’s another great writer and one that has had major cuts including, Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks and George Strait. Not bad for a fella from Bandera Texas ! Not bad for anybody. If you listen to country music at all then you’ll recognize “Angry All The Time”, but Bruces video accompanied by wife Kelly Willis, is so stark, real and uncomfortable, I couldn’t watch it too much.
We need the big label artists for sure. We need them to get songs out to a wider public, but as they say in Nashville, “It all begins with a song”, and that song very often begins with lyric, with a writer having an idea. So for the wordsmiths out there, writers are important and Bruce is among the finest. Especially in Nashville, every single day writers are writing, developing ideas, trying to create the magic.
