Shine A Light: Levon Helm

It doesn’t matter if Levon Helm is singing or speaking, he simply has one of the coolest voices ever. If the name, for some reason doesn’t ring a bell, then let me “Shine a light”. Levon was the vocalist on all the big hits by The Band. Songs like “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down”, “Up on Cripple Creek” and “The Weight”.

Levon parlayed his voice into the voiceover for the former TV show “The Road”, and has appeared in several movies. My favorite is the small part he played in Tommy Lee Jones’ movie “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada”.

With the releases of “Electric Dirt” and “Dirt Farmer”, Levon is stronger than ever. His music is real, raw and honest. Give it a big listen !!
